Seniors Dinner and Workshop

Kenyan Canadian Association - KCA organized a heartwarming and colorful Seniors Easter Celebration Dinner and Workshop for seniors and older adults (55+) in Toronto on March 29, 2024. The event facilitated through generous funding by Government of Canada through New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).

Amidst the festive atmosphere, the participants were able to network while the workshop focused on mental health and how to age well at home. Participants engaged in poignant discussions, sharing their experiences and insights, shedding light on the importance of addressing mental health issues within the community. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for seniors to connect, support one another, and foster a sense of understanding and empathy.

Furthermore, the event highlighted the Age Well at Home initiative by Federal Government, emphasizing the significance of enabling seniors to lead healthy, safe, and independent lives within their own homes and communities. By promoting initiatives like Age Well at Home, KCA is committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to thrive.

As the evening drew to a close, the participants were presented with a bags of culturally-appropriate and nutritious food supplies to take home, symbolizing appreciation and gratitude for their participation and contributions to the community.
