Sanjit Kaur
Ottawa Regional Chair and Head of the CouncilSanjit joined KCA on April 4, 2020 as Women and Gender Affairs Program Director has been very instrumental in the tremendous growth of the program since inception.
Sanjit is an experienced Entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in various industries from Travel & Tours, QM Auditing Processes, Education, Franchising and Direct Selling Industry.
Highly skilled in Business Planning, Operations Management, Coaching, Entrepreneurship, and Team Building. Has strong business and Service background accrued from a variety of Industries, with different roles and expectations. Recently trained and certified as a Rapid Transformational Therapist (RTTP) under Uk’s top Therapist Marisa Peer, she plans to start working with teenagers and young adults, affected by past traumas and experiences.
Sanjit currently owns and operates two Kumon educational franchises in Ottawa.

Farhan Kever

He also believes that through the power of technology, and volunteering we can build bridges between hope and possibility in the workforce and in the world. He is the President of Net Consult Inc, Treasurer at the International Police Association (IPA Canada Region 2), President of Kutchi Cultural Association in Canada, a board member of The ALOO Foundation, the Professional Criminologists Association of Kenya and Past President of The Rotaract Club of Mombasa. Farhan is also the KCA Communications Director.

Nova Scotia Regional ChairSam is a Certifed Public Accountant -CPA and financial services regulatory compliance professional. He has worked as an auditor with a big 4 accounting firms and international banks in Kenya, Cayman Islands and Canada. Currently, he is a coordinator and an instructor of financial services programs at Nova Scotia Community College, Ivany Campus. He sits in several Boards in Canada including Armbrae Academy as Board of Governor Treasurer, The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Atlantic Canada Chapter, For Childs Hope Canada and Full Gospel Church in Halifax. He also serves in the KCA Research, Education & Careers Committee.

Denis Adundo B.Eng, BBA, B.S/M.Eng
Newfoundland & Labrador Regional ChairDenis is currently pursuing a double major in Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Business Administration, with interests Mechanical Engineering and Resource - Based Industry Management
Based in the City of St. John’s, he is an avid lover and player of rugby and spends his spare time volunteering with SPCA St. John’s (www.spcastjohns.org) and St. John Ambulance. He played rugby for several years in Kenya prior to migrating to Canada and being an animal lover with two beautiful dogs, he was naturally drawn to these organizations. Being involved in these smaller communities within NL has taught him the importance and value of having a community to which you belong.

Naomi Gichugu MDP, Bsc
Manitoba Regional ChairNaomi holds a Masters in Development Practice from University of Winnipeg and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Education from Kenyatta University.
Some of her academic achievements include an Award through the Winnipeg Foundation Emerging Leaders fellow grant to develop the First Nations History Simulation for newcomers to Canada. The simulation is currently being taught at Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs.
She is fluent in both English and French, currently taking French studies in Advanced 2 class at Université de Saint-Boniface.

Moureen Ruto
Nothern Ontario Regional ChairMoureen is based in Sudbury. She is a dynamic, highly dedicated and compassionate professional making a difference in peoples’ lives. Living in a diverse community that is growing by the day, her main focus is to bring the community together by establishing a common goal and proactively working towards it to ensure stable and independent individuals in an even stronger community.
She believes the newcomers bring with them diverse knowledge and experience that positively impacts the development of our community. Her hope is that she can play a role in nurturing their skills to uplift their social economic status.
Professionally, she currently works as a healthcare professional. She has vast knowledge and experience in the Airline industry having worked with Kenya Airways for more than 10 years.

Donna Odityo MBA, B.Com, ACCA
New Brunswick Regional ChairDonna has a Master of Business Administration Degree from University of New Brunswick as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Degree from Kenyatta University. She is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants - ACCA
Currently she is as a volunteer with the Together Project where she works together with Welcome Group Volunteers to offer effective remote social support to Government assisted Refugees, Protected persons and Refugee claimants.
She is a firm believer in reaching out and helping out those in need as well as fostering partnerships and friendships that promote a sense of belonging within community members. She feels the giving spirit is rewarding and grows her as an all-rounded person.
She is a professional with vast experience and knowledge in Financial and Accounting analysis and reporting amassed over 10 years across various industries. She has worked in diverse Finance Operations Units in the Manufacturing, Not-for-profit and currently the banking industry.

Kelvin Gatoto B.A. (York)
GTA Central Regional ChairKelvin is an alumnus of York University with Bachelor of Arts (B.A). He is a mortgage specialist and banking professional having worked with CIBC and TD Canada Trust. He is very passionate about working with newcomers to Canada, both families and individuals, as he can relate to the challenges of moving to a new country with zero contacts. He has made it his purpose to offer a helping hand to any newcomer he comes across, sharing his personal story with them and helping them assimilate to this new world by offering guidance and pointing them to the right direction. In the past, he has worked with officials in the community to organize food drives and clothing drives to the various shelters in the GTA. Kelvin is part of the Youth of East Africa where they organize networking events and invite keynote speakers to teach the youth on how they can climb the corporate ladder or how to become successful entrepreneurs with the goal being to grow and succeed together as one.

Kombii Nanjalah
British Columbia National ChairBased in Vancouver BC, she is an elder and a community leader, having worked in the community since she arrived in Canada in 2006 to date. She seats on different boards in Vancouver, Surrey and Vancouver Island as well as in Continental of Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda)
She brings her experience as a community servant with the need to learn from others who are already offering their expertise in the organization.
She has four sons and has a 5-year-old grandson but is well-known as a mother and guardian to so many children in Canada and other parts of the world. She works in the community mainly serving those Canadians on the streets of Vancouver experiencing homelessness, mental health and addiction. She is an outreach worker for the black needy families on the streets. She cooks and feeds them using culturally appropriate meals
Ms. Philice Masinde MN, Bsc Nursing
London Regional ChairPhilice was born and raised in Kenya until 2016 when she moved to British Columbia - Canada with her family. She later on moved to London, Ontario in 2019 to study at the University of Western Ontario and where she resides to date. She graduated with Master of Nursing from University of Western Ontario and Bsc. Nursing from MMUST (Kenya).
Her interest in working with KCA is guided by her professional background as a Graduate Nurse and experience working with grassroot organizations both in Kenya and here in Canada. While in Kenya she worked with a not-for-profit organization dealing with HIV/AIDS, Women, Youth, and Gender Specialties. As the team leader in the health section of the organization, she participated in project planning, management, and evaluation as well as holistic community advocacy and mitigation aspects of health/wellness program. She also volunteers through Prostate Cancer Canada and BCNET. She currently works in a Long-Term Care facility.
She is particularly attracted to the KCA’s open move to work with other stakeholders to address issues related to settlement of marginalized persons including Kenyans and other minorities by elevating their personal/social and economic status

Dr. Milka Nyariro Ph.D, MA, BA
Quebec Regional ChairBased in Montreal, Milka is originally from Kenya. She holds a Doctorate degree in Educational Studies with a focus on Gender and Women’s studies from McGill University as well as Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts Degrees from University of Nairobi (Kenya). She is currently doing Postdoctoral training in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University.
Her expertise spans gender equality, youth empowerment, education, addressing gender-based violence and health equity for marginalized groups, immigrant Black communities.
Some of the research initiatives that she has conducted include:
- improving educational policy to achieve gender equality in Kenya and other Sub-Saharan African countries by integrating pregnant adolescent girls and young mothers in education systems;
- increasing women’s economic empowerment through the provision of affordable childcare systems in marginalized communities in Kenya; and
- engaging youth to address gender-based and sexual violence in their communities both in Canada and sub-Saharan Africa.
She intends to contribute her skills and expertise towards the achievement of some of the KCA strategic objectives.

Wycliffe Isaiah Oduor
Calgary Regional ChairWycliffe moved to Canada in 1999 from Kisumu, Kenya. Back in Kenya, he worked with various organization both Christian and Secular on Environmental and Social Service.
On immigration to Canada, he helped form the first Kenyan Church that later birthed the Kenyan Community Association in Calgary.
He got involved with US-based Trainers for Change based on the principles of Rev. Martin Luther King and has been involved for the last 15 years with Labor Rights, Civic Rights and Human Rights. He is also the current First Vice President of Calgary District Labour Council.
Wycliffe is serving as the President of Kenya Community Association in Calgary which he founded together with other Kenyans. He is serving in his third stint after a two year break. During his 2 year break he served as KCA Calgary's Ambassador At Large. He has also served the same organization for two terms as Secretary.
He feels it will be great honor to serve in the KCA Council to collaborate with other Kenyan Organizations, Groups and leaders across the Country as help to co-ordinate ways to capture the needs and issues of the community so KCA would be in a better place to represent and protect the interests of Kenyans in this Southern part of Alberta.
