Gender-Based Violence Webinar Series Launch
Despite the persistent prevalence of gender-based violence in all areas of our society, instances of this violence remain largely under reported. This grim fact can be attributed to the stigma surrounding it and lack of access to resources and support systems.
As such, the Kenyan Canadian Associations (KCA) is proud to announce the launch of a new webinar series addressing gender-based violence. This series is supported by funding from the Government of Canada through the Canadian Women’s Foundation, Safer + Stronger COVID-19 Emergency grant. The webinars are designed to foster a virtual environment to spread awareness, provide information and offer resources for prevention.
Join us for the inaugural event Understanding and Preventing Gender-Based Violence on Saturday, August 21, from 2:45pm – 5:30pm ET. This webinar will include introductory information about gender-based violence and will offer expert perspectives from guest panelists on prevention strategies.
Look out for future webinars in this series:
- Survivors and Family Support & Intervention, September 11th
- Legal and Justice System, September 25th
- Gender Based Violence and the Media, October 16th
- Gender Equality and UN Women’s HeForShe, November 6th
