2023 KCA International Women's Day workshop & Celebration Dinner

Kenyan Canadian Association (KCA) held the Inuagural International Women's Day Workshop & Celebration Dinner on March 11, 2023 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The colorful event was grace by invited local and international dignitaries and special guests.

The Chief Guest was The Spouse of The Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya H.E. Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi EGH, who received an award from KCA for championing Gender Equality and the plight of the Boy Child. H.E. Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi was welcomed to the City by His Worship Patrick Brown, The Mayor of Brampton. She was accompanied to the event by Kenya High Commissioner to Canada H.E. Amb. Immaculate Wambua and Kenya Honorary Consul in Toronto Mr. Sunir Chandaria. Other Canadian Political Leaders who graced the event include Brampton North MP Hon. Ruby Sahota, MPP of Brampton Centre and Ontario Minister of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity. Hon. Charmaine Williams and Brampton North MPP Hon. Graham McGregor.

Strategic Planning Workshop Held for KCA Leadership in Ontario

Sunday, November 13, 2022 - Brampton, Ontario

Kenyan Canadian Association (KCA) held the strategic planning workshop for its top leadership team comprising of Program Chairs and Regional Chairs based in Ontario, Canada.

The strategic planning workshop held on November 12, 2022 at Turnberry Golf Club in Brampton was facilitated through the support of Black Canadian Communities Initiative (SBCCI) FUND.

SBCCI was created by the federal government through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to help build the capacity of grassroots not-for-profit organizations serving Black communities in Canada. SBCCI FUND is aiding selected black-led or black-serving not-for-profits to increase financial support, gain greater organizational stability, and improve their leadership, communication, transparency, and growth.

KCA President among King Baodouin Prize for African Development Dinner Invited Guests

Toronto, Canada - October 26, 2022

Kenyan Canadian Association President & Executive Director Ephraim Mwaura participated at a dinner on Wednesday 26 October 2022, at the Residence of Belgium Ambassador to Canada in Ottawa to honor Ms. Ilwad Elman, a Somali-Canadian recipient of the King Baudouin Prize for African Development.

Ilwad Elman is a Somali-Canadian social activist. She works at the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu alongside her mother Fartuun Adan, the NGO's founder. She was voted the African Young Personality of the Year during the 2016 Africa Youth Awards.
